Transition Planning Management Services

Although project management and owner representative firms propose to assist a client in transition planning, their time and expertise is focused on managing the design and build-out of the client facilities. It is assumed that, with minor intervention, a client will be able to effectively transition into their new offices. For most firms, a major transition is rare and the ability to develop and manage a transition planning process is as foreign to internal stakeholders as designing and building a new facility.

It is for this purpose that transition planning management is offered: to assist a client to develop and execute a feasible plan for identifying and performing the thousands of tasks which comprise relocating the corporate business operations, culture, personnel and corporate resources to a new place of business.

The Carter Group begins the transition planning process by identifying the major stakeholders and components of your relocation:

We will identify and interview key members of your staff who will have primary responsibility for planning and executing the transition of your organization from your current location(s) to your new facilities. We’ll also identify the need for any additional outside consultants, and/or vendors — working closely with you to develop vendor Request for Proposal (RFP) specifications.

Once your Project Team has been established we will schedule and chair regular transition planning team meetings that include your internal staff as well as key outside participants. Here we develop the agendas, record meeting minutes, and assist in the follow-up process of these meetings, which are essential to the efficient development and execution of your transition plan. We assist your stakeholders and departments in developing appropriate transition objectives. We also help them document data flows and work flow processes that must be transitioned to the new facilities.
